Ares bullets and ammo

As designers and ammunition manufacturers continue to push the boundaries of accuracy and ballistics, Ares' bullets and ammunition also address another issue, namely lead exposure. Let's take a look together at what this new technology has to offer.

Reloaders have known for years that creating your own performance-specific ammunition can give you an advantage in competition. Reduced recoil, faster follow-up shots, and improved accuracy can all come from having the right ammunition on the range.

Ares bullets and ammo

Shooting a firearm is a messy business; traditional lead bullets fragment and vaporize during firing, exposing the shooter to lead particles. If you're a high-volume shooter, Ares bullets and ammunition offer a cleaner alternative. Polymer-coated ammunition like Ares has a unique design. Underneath the polymer coating is a lead core. The coating reduces the friction of the bullet when fired, which in turn reduces heat and barrel wear. Ares bullets are designed to allow for clean shooting and shooters are protected from lead contact. Ares ammunition contains lead-free primers with clean-burning propellants which will be appreciated by shooters at indoor and outdoor ranges.

In addition to the bright colors, this type of coating has several other significant features.

TSJ (Total Synthetic Jacket)

These brightly colored projectiles are in fact polymer jackets that can be made, almost, in any color. Ares projectiles are completely encased in a polymer jacket designed to prevent metal-to-metal contact inside the barrel. This design eliminates internal lead and copper contamination. Reduced fouling means you won't have to clean your firearm as often as you would with standard ammunition.

The polymer moves down the barrel with much less friction than other coatings (copper). The contact between copper and steel can heat up the barrel quickly. Ares bullets with EPRX (uncoated bullet bottom) and CEPRX (all-coated bullet bottom) coatings produce less friction and less heat than other standard jacketed bullets.
By reducing bore wear, shooting with Ares bullets is expected to increase barrel life.
In addition to reducing fouling and barrel wear, Ares bullets are a safer choice for shooting steel targets.
The hard copper jackets splinter when they strike steel, causing dangerous fragmentation  that poses a risk to both shooters and casual bystanders. Due to the polymer being softer, it does not fragment in the same way as FMJ rounds. The chance of sharp polymer shards bouncing off steel targets is very low.

Recoil and Power Factor

Ares ammunition is designed to produce a standard power factor. The power factor is the weight of the bullet in grains multiplied by the velocity of the bullet in feet per second and is essential for shooters competing in IPSC, USPSA, etc.
In addition to competitive matches, the power factor has an effect on recoil. Recoil affects more than just a shooter's comfort, less recoil makes it easier for the shooter to get back on target and make quick and accurate shots.
Every bullet that passes through your barrel damages the barrel in a minor way. Whether you are a casual shooter who fires a few dozen rounds or a high-volume shooter who fires hundreds of rounds, a polymer-coated, low-friction cartridge like the Ares will add some extra use time to your gun.

Bullets and projectiles with our coating extend the life of the barrel considerably, as it is very slippery and requires less powder for the required performance. Even after the 100,000 shots were fired, there was no measurable difference in the barrel bore. Plus, we brought color and variety to the shooting. If you are interested in our bullets, we are ready to load them for you. More than 100 shapes of cast bullets in 20 calibers and 20 colors are waiting for you. ARES is not only the choice for champions but also yours. BANG BANG...
